Old Houses & Heritage Sites
Reopened to the public in 2012 for guided tours, it is a large mansion house on the Hook peninsula, County Wexford, Ireland that is said to have been haunted both by the devil and by the ghost of a young woman. The Redmond family built the original building in about 1350 during the time of the Black Death. It replaced their original castle at Houseland near Portersgate. The house has been resold during 2021 and at present is closed but we are sure that it will re-open under the new management.
