Cullenstown Beach - 5 minutes drive from the village of Carrick on Bannow (Normans landed in Bannow Bay in 1169) - is a long stretch of sandy beach, it can be stoney at times from stormy weathers; Walkers can enjoy walking across the sand, climbing rocks and when the tide is 'out' it is possible to walk directly from Cullenstown Beach to Blackhall Beach and back again! Sitting on the cliff top in Cullenstown visitors enjoy the views to Baginbun Head on one side and Kilmore Quay to the other side. Looking out to sea are the Saltee Islands and the Keeragh Islands.  There is a handball alley which provides a wonderful play area for soccer, tennis, handball or to just run around and have fun.  Picnics and barbecues are very popular in Cullenstown. Sitting on a rock listening to the crashing waves in Cullenstown is one of the best places on earth to relax and to take a 'time out'.
